Using Streaming Translation

When internationalizing your web event, three approaches are available:

1) Streaming Translation used with other web software
2) Streaming Translation built into your own website, or
3) Streaming Translation ready-to-use links for LIVE translation

Streaming Translation with your software

For anyone giving an online webinar, training or conference, Streaming Translation can be used to internationalize your web event in up to 40 languages at the same time. The internationalization feature (subtitles or voice) operates independently of the online display software you are using, such as WebEx or GoToWebinar.

The user opens your webinar as usual. Then, “Command-N” to create a new window. Click a link to take this new window to your Streaming Translation page. The attendee chooses the preferred language to read (subtitles) or hear (translated voice), re-sizes the window, and places it anywhere.

The pictures on the right emphasize that is your choice whether to use the training materials in your language or training materials in the foreign language.

Streaming Translation with your web pages

Streaming Translation can easily be placed on your own website and your own web pages. In this way, customize as often as you desire. Customize the look of your Streaming Translation for every webinar so that it harmonizes with the color scheme, your company colors, logo and background. If you wish, pre-determine translations for content then use Streaming Translation for improvisation and ad-lib conversation.

Streaming Translation is one line of code – called an “iFrame” code – that almost anyone can copy-paste into a normal web page. When your users click a link to view translation, this little piece of code will turn into a bottom half of a web page where your audience chooses LIVE subtitles or translated voice.

The top half of the page is your choice. Stream a camera, video, images, slides… whatever suits your web event. The translation – including in your language for the deaf or ESL – will appear on the lower half of the page.
